The island of Java, contains approximately thirty sugar mills with reciprocating steam power in what must be the largest concentrations of such power anywhere on the planet. I have been photographing stationary and marine steam engines for more years than I care to remember. I joined the 2006 visit, having sat on the fence for far too long, and even though my expectations were high what we saw was completely astounding. We believe we have the minimum number needed to run this visit but more are welcome but time is running out to register your interest in this visit
